Nubiola recently expanded its manufacturing capacity of micronized red iron oxides, specifically the Nubifer Red 5000 series, by 20 percent at its Girardota, Colombia production plant. The investment was approved last year but the expanded line is working at full capacity since mid-2010. The Nubifer 5000 series are micronized iron oxides, which provide higher performance versus conventional iron oxides mostly because of their higher dispersibility, narrower particle size distribution and lower sieve residue, according to the company. Micronized red iron oxides range from the yellowest shade—Nubifer R-5501—to the bluest—Nubifer R-5580—through middle shades. Nubiola’s product range includes red, yellow, black and brown iron oxides, heat resistant yellow iron oxides and zinc ferrites.
